Stepping back
As many startups do, Fauna initially started as a consultancy, but our vision for the future of operational data truly started taking shape in 2016, when we raised our seed round of funding. At the time, the idea of a serverless database was strange and laughable. I’m proud to say that is no longer the case.
Since then, Fauna’s defining vision for operational data has influenced the entire industry. Our product and team have matured, and the Fauna community, which includes all of you, continues to grow quickly.
As co-founder, initial investor, and CEO, I led Fauna through three rounds of venture capital, and then transitioned to a CTO role two years ago, when we brought in a new leadership team headed by Eric Berg.
I have now chosen to step back from day-to-day involvement in Fauna, but I will continue to support and help the company in an external capacity. As every founder understands, Fauna will always be my baby, and I look forward to the great things that the future holds for the product, the company, and the community. We’re all in this together, after all.
